MaxxLook vs Umax: choose by the job
MaxxLook is an iPhone app built around a guided six-photo analysis, a plan and repeat checks, with a free first scan. Umax — Become Hot, by Improvement Tech, offers selfie-based ratings and analysis on iPhone and Android. Its iPhone listing says analysis results require a subscription and extra scans require another purchase. Choose by what you want to do after the result.

When Umax may fit better
If you need an Android app or want Umax’s specific rating experience, start with its official listing. Review the exact subscription and extra-scan terms before buying. MaxxLook’s iPhone app does not serve Android users; our two free browser tools answer narrower measurement questions.
When MaxxLook may fit better
If you want to inspect measurement readings, turn the first scan into a practical plan, and re-check with a guided setup, start with how MaxxLook works. For a no-install first step, the face-shape tool includes styling diagrams and a downloadable stylist brief. These describe our product’s approach, not proof that its measurements are more accurate than Umax’s.
Compare data handling separately
MaxxLook’s browser tools read photos locally; the iPhone analysis uploads photos as explained in our privacy policy. These are different data flows. Umax’s iPhone privacy label is supplied by its developer and includes photos or videos for app functionality and usage data for tracking. Read the Umax privacy policy for its current terms. We have not independently audited either app’s data handling.
What a comparison cannot establish
Neither an app-store description nor a feature count establishes accuracy, clinical validity or a guaranteed improvement. A score depends on the photo, selected measurements and scoring rules. Read how to choose a face-analysis app, and inspect the subscription offer rather than treating a download marked free as free analysis.
Common questions
Is MaxxLook a free Umax alternative?
MaxxLook offers a free first iPhone scan and free browser face-shape and symmetry tools. Ongoing app features require membership. The browser tools are narrower than a full app analysis, and own-photo Try On previews are not enabled yet.
